Foundations of Disciplined Agile, Choosing Your WoW

Using real-world agile strategies, you will learn how to tailor your team’s Way of Working (WoW) to optimize 
productivity and continuously improve. Upon completion of this workshop, you will be prepared to begin your Disciplined Agile certification journey. 

As a team leader you strive to be more agile and help your team be more productive. To succeed, you need an agile mindset, combined with leadership and team management skills. At the same time need to do so within the context of your organization and its culture. The new Disciplined Agile Lean Scrum Master (DALSM) training and certification provides tools and strategies to help you lead an agile team, influence people, and remove impediments. Using real-world agile strategies, you will learn how to tailor your team’s Way of Working (WoW) to optimize productivity and continuously improve. Upon completion of this workshop, you will be prepared to begin your Disciplined Agile certification journey.

Upon completion you will be able to:

  • Apply the values, principles, and practices of agile and lean on your team
  • Describe how to create the environment within which flow of value can be achieved
  • Determine the steps to support business agility and what it takes to do it in your organization
  • Choose appropriate practices and techniques given your working environment to
       continuously improve your WoW
  • Identify tailored solutions to address common organizational and management needs that
       still exist even when you are agile

Designation Earned

  • After passing the Disciplined Agile Certification Test you will be awarded the Certified
      Disciplined Agilist (CDA) designation.
  • Based on your experience with agile teams, you may apply for the following designations:
    • with PMI-ACP or references for a minimum 2 years agile team experience - Certified Disciplined Agile Practitioner (CDAP)
    • with references for a minimum 2 years agile team lead experience -  Disciplined Agile Lean Scrum Master (DALSM)

SPEAKER BIO

David Shapiro

David Shapiro is a Senior Director of engineering at Openlink leading multiple software development and DevOps teams.  David has driven DA adoption and transformation at Openlink, as well as other Global Enterprise Trading System Software companies.

David is an innovative hands-on certified Disciplined Agile Coach, Practitioner, and Instructor.  He is an Advisory Council member of the Disciplined Agile Consortium, a PMI member belonging to the NYC and LI chapters, actively working with DA Champions throughout the PMI organization to forward the DA initiative and adoption.  

David is recognized for his unique ability to develop top talent and cultivate high-performance teams that continuously exceed expectations.
