Event Description: 

A personal account of how the administration of emergency-related projects served as a springboard for lean management, design/build, and risk management innovation. Communicating with project partners, managing expectations early in the process, and setting boundaries and goals while remaining flexible were key elements of success. Above all, fostering a positive, can-do attitude, and team effort helped the process and project feel achievable within a short period of time for execution. A group activity will allow participants to brainstorm other strategies for fast-track solutions and achieving results in the face of uncertainty.

Speaker: 

Elisabete Godden is a design and construction professional, with 25 years of industry experience, and is a University at Buffalo Architecture & Planning Alumna. Currently a Project Manager at Cornell University Facilities and Campus Services, she manages over $50M in capital investments and has expertise in the private sector, government, and university settings. Elisabete is a certified NYS Code Enforcement official and has a special interest in sustainable design, strategic planning, phasing, and logistics while concentrating on finding efficiencies and mitigating risks. A mother of two school-aged children, she enjoys staying active, hiking, and cooking with friends and family.
