Attendees will receive 1 PDU for Strategic Project Management

Have you ever wondered how construction project management is different from your own specialty? Come to our construction primer and meet an expert! Tom King will discuss the various aspects of construction project management, which are similar to IT / software / product development with special exceptions many of us do not have to work with: architects, fire codes, agency partnerships (such as town boards, county planners, state environmental boards, NYSEG, fire departments, and more!).

How easy is it to transfer your project management skills to construction? Bring your questions to our speaker.

Our Speaker:

Thomas King, PE, CCM, PMP, is Project Director for New Parish Center Project at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church and is Director of Construction Management at Cornell University. Tom received his bachelor's degree from Villanova University and his Master's degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, both in Civil Engineering. While working at the US General Services Administration he managed a variety of projects including the Champlain and Massena Land Ports of Entry and the Buffalo Federal Courthouse in NY. At Cornell his staff managed the construction of Gates Hall, Klarman Hall, CVM Class Expansion, Upson Hall Renovation, and the University Health Services Expansion, among others. He is a Professional Engineer, a Project Management Professional, and a Certified Construction Manager.
