Stacy Munechika

Presentation Title:SPOTTING THE ICEBERG

How to stop hidden decision traps from sinking your project

Stacy Munechika is employed at Eastman Kodak Company where he has held a variety of positions from Research Scientist to Engineering Manager. He has over 10 years of experience leading technical and dispersed teams in developing innovative solutions for digital printing products. Before joining Kodak, Stacy was an Officer in the US Air Force. Stacy is a big believer in learning from failure (hence he golfs). He is passionate about organizational communication and its role in effective decision-making and project success.

Project failure can often be traced to a series of poor judgment calls. As project managers, we count on the judgment of ourselves and our teams to create and execute accurate project plans. Poor judgment leads to poor decisions and eventually to the breakdown of the project. How do we know that we are making the right decisions? Do we have a realistic picture of our project - - or is our perspective biased and distorted? How do we know we have not fooled ourselves into making poor decisions and are heading towards the proverbial iceberg?
