Volunteer of the Year 2019
Angela came on board with the chapter last year through the ROC The Project program. Angela is a PM at Kodak Alaris. She was recommended to us through John Milazzo, who is an executive at Kodak Alaris and champion for PM and for PMI Rochester. Angela embraced the opportunity wholeheartedly and dove in to the ROC The Project program with much passion and engagement. She even took part in a speaker panel at the 2019 ROC The Project Finale to speak about PM and her experiences which spoke about with much grace and enthusiasm. Angela is relatively new at PM (less than 5 years experience) but spoke like a pro during the panel. After the ROC The Project program ended Angela continued to be engaged by taking a leadership role in working with our partner in the program, the MK Ghandi Institute for Non-Violence to assure they had the PM support they needed. Angela continues to raise her hand to get involved in leadership positions in the chapter to continue on her journey of learning and taking advantage of the chapter resources as much as she can. She has recently become involved in another initiative that our great chapter is engaged in with the Rochester Chamber of Commerce called ROC 2025. Angela was chosen to get involved because of the leadership and PM acumen she has demonstrated with ROC The Project. We are so excited to have Angela on the volunteer team and so grateful for her contributions to the Outreach team this past quarter!
John has been with the chapter over a year with the Outreach Team. First of all has massive amounts of integrity, passion for the chapter and Project Management skill and talent. Most recently he has brought those strengths to the Awards program where he has lead and supported the initiative and brought it up a notch by leading the team to update the Awards guide and associated documentation getting it ready for the nominations window to go live with the appropriate marketing materials. John also recently lead the team to document a Standard Operating Procedure for the Awards program which was comprehensive and included a seasonal planning schedule that can be followed by a future team for an entire year. We greatly appreciate John’s passion and efforts to the chapter that helps keep us on track for an important program, recognizing excellence in Project Management in our community!
Having worked with Tea on the PMI Day of Service and now on the Awards Committee, I have been impressed by Tea's dedication to the Chapter, her positive attitude, and her quality contributions. She is always looking for creative and alternative ways of accomplishing a goal and she frequently steps up and takes on additional work and Action Items. Tea represents all the qualities that make up an exceptional Volunteer!
