Eric has spent most of his career in Student Affairs in Higher Education, most recently in building operations for student life. In that role part of his responsibilities included strategic planning, budgeting, capital planning, and managing renovation and construction projects. Through this experience Eric found his passion for project management and made a career change into project management as a profession. He is now the Project Manager/Business Analyst for the River Campus Libraries Digital Initiatives at the University of Rochester. The UR libraries have committed to developing project management practices and have created a community of practice on the subject that Eric will be serving on to help find ways to incorporate project management principles into more of the libraries work.
Eric is looking forward to sitting for his PMP exam this year and will be using the PMI Rochester Professional Development Grant toward the On-demand PMP Exam Prep course provided by PMI.
