Stephen Lynch

VP of Membership Nominee

Stephen Lynch is a Project Coordinator in the Project Portfolio Office at the University of Rochester Medical Center. He recently graduated from Rochester Institute of Technology in the spring of 2021 with a Bachelor’s in Management Information Systems. After becoming a member of PMI Rochester in July 2020, Stephen took on his current role of VP of Membership and finished out the final few months of the current term. During this time, Stephen has been focused on stopping the membership decline that took place during COVID and planning for an exciting year ahead.

In his current role at URMC, Stephen is working with the PPO to establish new IT Business Processes for the Information Systems Department as the team rolls out ServiceNow. Stephen also held several corporate internship positions during college at several local companies, including Paychex, CooperVision, and Wegmans. During these experiences, he improved internal business processes and managed various projects related to eCommerce, software development, & information technology. His passion is technology, and he enjoys working with business leaders to implement innovative and

customer centered solutions that are driven by technology and analytics.

As Vice President of Membership, Stephen’s goal is to bring positive value to the members of PMI Rochester. He will engage all members with safe and inclusive in-person and virtual events and programs. He is excited for the potential opportunity to have a full term in front of him to serve and grow the PMI Rochester Membership.

Chris O'Brien

VP of Ithaca Nominee

Chris O'Brien, PMP, is currently the Vice President of the Ithaca Branch and has been a project manager for over 11 years. She has been an IT professional in higher education for all of her career, the last 22 years at Cornell University. Chris has served as project manager for a variety of IT projects ranging from small enhancements to multi-year, multi-million dollar enterprise system upgrades and implementations.

She obtained her PMP certification in 2016 and is the founder of 'Snack and Share' at Cornell - an informal/inclusive community to provide monthly(-ish) meetings to network, connect, collaborate, learn and share topics like PM/BA best practices, change management, tech tools, and other fresh topics of importance at Cornell. She was honored with the 2019 PMI Rochester Project Manager Excellence award.

In her free time, she enjoys dog performance activities with her two Australian Shepherds and competitive knife throwing with her husband.

Chris O'Brien

Keith Parris

VP of Outreach Nominee

Keith Parris, PMP, is currently the Vice President of Outreach for the PMI Rochester Chapter. He has been in project management for over 15 years starting his career in manufacturing in Canada. He worked on product designs, improving efficiencies and fulfilling major contracts. He later transitioned into Utility Services, Water and Wastewater in Trinidad and Tobago for approximately 10 years. While working in Water and Wastewater he was responsible for designs, new construction and upgrades of facility and infrastructure. On returning to the United States he entered into the Health industry where he currently manages a PMO which undertakes a variety of projects ranging from facility upgrades to program implementation. During his spare time, he loves to spend time outdoors and is passionate about vehicles
