| Information Systems Analyst, Rochester NY at SNC-Lavalin T&D - Thursday, January 19, 2012 As part of the SNC-Lavalin group of companies, SNC-Lavalin T&D designs, develops, and delivers engineering, procurement, and construction solutions for high voltage power transmission line and substation projects North America and abroad.
SNC-Lavalin T&D has an exciting opportunity for a full-time Information Systems Analyst. This individual will be responsible for providing internal support for computer applications being used within the T&D business unit. Reporting to the Manager, Project Management Office, this is a permanent position in our office located in Rochester NY.
Accountabilities for the Information Systems Analyst are:
Main IT Main resource for the Project Management office: Work with project managers, planners, estimators, specialists and cost controllers: Must be comfortable with the challenges of project management at all levels of the organization.
Providing expertise in Visual Basic, BW (Business Warehouse), SAP and SharePoint. Knowledge of Timberline is an asset.
Abilities to understand and enhance home grown applications and program on Access
Expertise in report development for the applications/environments mentioned above. Will be called on to develop specific customized reports using mathematic models, statistics, trending and standard PMI metrics (KPIs). Visual aspects of dashboard reporting for projects/programs will be part of this position. Reports produced must be highly professional and exhibit an “executive” look and feel.
Understanding of Project Management Protocols related to project planning, cost control and estimating
Practical experience in cost controlling would be a plus
Qualifications for the position include:
Post-Secondary degree or technical certification in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum 5 –10 years of related experience including successful user requirements definition, implementation, testing & support of software applications / systems and related work flow / processes.
Excellent knowledge and understanding of current information technology, solutions and trends.
Ability to work with and manage enterprise wide information in a multiple database environment requiring good data integrity, data import and export, custom queries and reporting, etc. would be an strong asset.
Strong leadership, organization, analytical and problem solving skills.
Strong collaboration and written and oral communication skills.
Ability to work independently and in a team environment.

| Project Managers - SNC-Lavalin T & D , Rochester, NY - Tuesday, January 10, 2012SNC-Lavalin T & D has exciting full time career opportunities for Project Managers with various levels of experience. Project Managers are responsible for the timely and efficient coordination and delivery of transmission line projects. T & D projects vary in size and complexity, resulting in the necessity to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
The Project Manager is required to lead a multi-discipline team through the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) phases of the project. The Project Manager is also required to complete Project Proposals for Business Development purposes.

Accountabilities:
Lead the development of project schedules and identify activities necessary for project execution.
Apply work breakdown structure requirements. Identify critical paths including critical float path analysis.
Manager information integration from engineers, subcontractors, owners and others to create an integrated master schedule.
Create graphics (Gantt charts, activity network diagrams, time-scaled logic diagrams, and histograms).
Work with project management to set goals, objectives, and analyze project status.
Assessing progress measurement and developing/updating progress curves for progress reporting.
Perform project performance analysis including Earned Value
Preparing project schedules.
Preparing schedule updates and general maintenance in Primavera.
Schedule related information collection and distribution.
Qualifications for the positions include:
Accounting or Engineering degree
5 years experience.
Experience in an EPC environment
Advanced skills in Microsoft Office
Proficient with Primavera (P6) and MS Project.
Strong oral and written communications skills.
