Job Summary

Position located in Rochester, NY

Responsibilities:

 Ensure project implementation through PMO

 Prepare budget proposals, and recommend subsequent budget changes where necessary

 Estimates costs, time and resource requirements

 Establish and maintain vendor relationships

 Assist with all projects mainly focused in the Commercial/Insurance division of FNB. 

 Manages all efforts required for successful project completion, including:

- Partner with business units and stakeholders to define projects

- Create and maintain project plans

Create effective milestones

- Coordinate timely communication with the project team

- Ensure all documentation is complete and filed

 

Required Skills/Competencies:

 Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
 Ability to adapt to shifting priorities, demands, and tight timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
 Advanced interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
 Familiarity with project management and financial software/systems
 Experience in developing and deploying project best practices, policies, procedures, and processes.
 Strong interpersonal, problem solving, and influencing skills and ability to interact well with employees, vendors and contractors at all levels.
 Adept at conducting research into project-related issues and products.
 Must be able to learn, understand and apply new technologies.

 

Minimum Experience

 

 Bachelors degree in business management or related field. Masters degree preferred.

 Minimum of 5 years direct work experience in a project management capacity, including all aspects of development and execution or comparable experience. 

 Demonstrated success in managing a high-performing team.

 Excellent skills in Microsoft Project

The University of Rochester is recruiting a Project Manager to work within University IT.  This position will be responsible for managing small to medium size projects and internal initiatives from initiation to close-out.  This position will also participate in Project Management Office activities including the facilitation of resource management efforts, project management training, and administration of the project portfolio management system.  This position is a two year assignment. 

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS: 
Demonstration of the following knowledge and skillsis expected:  strong verbal and written communications skills with the ability to articulate complex concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences; strong problem solving skills; knowledge of project management best practices including PMI methodology; knowledge of the system development lifecycle (SDLC) and enterprise application architecture concepts; familiarity with business analysis tools such as data flow diagrams, functional requirements,technical specifications, and use case documentation; experience with process mapping, process improvement, and process re-engineering preferred. 

MINIMUM AND PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: 
The ideal candidate will meet or exceed the following:  Bachelor's degree in Business, MIS, or related field; 4 years IT project management; experience in higher education or healthcare preferred; equivalent combination of experience, training and/or education; CAPM or PMP certification favorable.

-This is a two year term position.  After the two year term, the role will be re-evaluated.  During the term, the employee is entitled to benefits as if it were a regular hire.  After the term, if the position is converted, the duration of the term counts toward time on the job.

- The salary is $60K with 3 weeks of vacation plus 7 University holidays.
