Are you new to PMI Rochester? Do you go to Chapter meetings and find a group of strangers?
One of the ways to get to know people in your profession is to become involved! PMI Rochester is led by volunteers, run by volunteers and utilizes volunteers for most of the tasks needed to make it the organization that it is.
The key to any effective organization is people who are committed to the common mission. The PMI Rochester Chapter has been fortunate to have many capable and motivated people participating in building and maintaining the chapter from the early days through to our most recent accomplishments.
We welcome you in joining this group to take an active role in supporting the development of the Project Management profession throughout the Rochester and Ithaca areas.
There are volunteer opportunities that range in commitment from as little as a one-time two-hour role at a seminar to support registration to the many hours committed by our board. Many opportunities request two to four hours per month or short term commitments. There are always opportunities for leadership, program development, community service and any other area that a 600+ member organization needs to remain strong.

You can earn up to 5 PDUs in a year just by volunteering! Here are a list of the open volunteer positions:
- Director of Communications and Social Media - 10 hrs / month
- Director of Business Documents - 10 hrs / month
- Assistance with PDD – 5 hrs / month to start and up to 10 hrs / month as the PDD draws near)
- Chapter Videographer – 2 hrs / month
- Chapter Meeting Registration - 2 hrs / month
- Chapter Social Event Coordinator - 5 hrs / month
- Data Analyst - 5-10 hrs / month
- Publicity/Marketing Coordinator - 10 hrs / month
- Press Release Author - 5 hrs / month
- Website Content Researcher/Coordinator - 10 hrs / month
- Blog Writer - 5 hrs / month
- Subject Matter Expert in YouTube - 5 hrs / month
- PMI contact at your company to communicate Chapter events - 2 hrs / month
- PMI contact for a local college or university to communicate Chapter events - 2 hrs / month
