One of the ways to get to know people in your profession is to become involved. PMI Rochester is led by volunteers, run by volunteers, and utilizes volunteers for most of the tasks needed to make it the organization that it is.

The key to any effective organization is people who are committed to the common mission. The PMI Rochester Chapter has been fortunate to have many capable and motivated people participating in building and maintaining the chapter from the early days through to our most recent accomplishments.

We welcome you in joining this group to take an active role in supporting the development of the Project Management profession throughout the Rochester area.

There are volunteer opportunities that range in commitment from as little as a one-time two-hour role at a seminar to support registration to the many hours committed by our board. Many opportunities request two to four hours per month or short term commitments. There are always opportunities for leadership, program development, community service, and any other thing that a 600+ member organization needs to remain strong.

Why volunteer?

Simple: First, you earn PDUs for volunteer activities within your local chapter.
Second, you make a difference in our chapter by helping the membership.
Third, you learn new things about project management in the process.
And, don’t forget those PDUs!!  

You can earn up to 5 PDUs just by volunteering!!

• Registration for Events – 5 hrs /month
  
• Vendor Management – 10 hrs / month
  
• Medical Insurance Management – 2 hrs /  month
  
•  Facilities Manager – 5-6 hrs / month
  
• Grant Manager – 10 hrs / month
  
• Scholarships – 10 hrs / month
  
• Assistance with PDD – 10 hrs / month (more as PDD draws near)
  
• Event Photographer – 2 hrs / month
•  Website Content Manager - 10 hrs / month
• Web Social Media Community Manager - 10 hrs / month
•  Communications Manager - 10 hrs / month
